Learning Showcase

On Thursday the 18th of June, year 06 had their learning showcase. On the night there was lots of smiling faces and information given which was very nice to see. What made the night extra special was the Wyvern House Annual Film Festival, where a lot of boys made movies with to show. The attire was formal, so everyone including the parents were wearing tuxedos and ties. Tom Hirst, Rhys Miller and Angus Churchin walked out with their heads held high with their movie, The Power of Words turning out to win the People's Choice Award. It was great to see the boys hard work pay off, with parents taking in lots of information regarding Frank Hurley and their Science Experiments. But what the students were most happy about was the soft drinks and popcorn during the films. Altogether it was an outstanding night and all of the boys should be proud of what they had done.

Year 6 Excursion

On Tuesday the 26th of May, the year 6 boys went on a trip to the IMAX and the Australian Maritime Museum see an exhibition of Sir Ernest Shackleton. I think the teachers deserve a round of applause for organising a sensational excursion.

We first went to the IMAX cinema where we saw a very thorough and detailed biography on his trip and just how he braved the conditions and overcame all costs to survive. Shackleton was a true gentleman that never gave up on anyone.

Next was the Maritime Museum, this was spectacular and fun! Each boy loved the experience and we got to learn how Sir Ernest's crew survived and what they wore. If this wasn't good enough, we also got to go on the HMAS Vampire which was a very grand warship that was very tightly binded.

I speak on behalf of all the boys that went on the trip that it was extraordinary and we wish year six boys to in years to come will have as much fun as we did.

Games Should Be Allowed at School

Games like Minecraft and Clash of Clans should definitely become part of our school curriculum. These games require strategy and Hand-eye coordination that could help you in later life.

Clash of Clans is a great game that lets you build your own empire and look after it. The bigger your city gets, the better. This game also helps you with your leadership skills. If you own a town you need to know how to look after it.

Minecraft is an amazing game that is loved by many around the world. This cube world teaches you how to craft numerous things as well as protecting yourself from evil monsters. Minecraft is a fun tool that should definitely be used as an educational app.

3 Goals for 2015

The have been a lot of things that I haven't done. So I think 2015 will be a great year to do some of them.

1) I have never been the smartest kid, and I find maths a struggle. So for my last year of primary school I would really like to buckle down and excell.

2) I absolutely love cricket and I love playing it. I would love to make the Milo cup cricket team and just have fun being with my mates.

3) I have a dog named Maggie. I adore her and I love her with all my heart. This year I would like to train her more than she is and help her grow up.
