3 Goals for 2015

The have been a lot of things that I haven't done. So I think 2015 will be a great year to do some of them.

1) I have never been the smartest kid, and I find maths a struggle. So for my last year of primary school I would really like to buckle down and excell.

2) I absolutely love cricket and I love playing it. I would love to make the Milo cup cricket team and just have fun being with my mates.

3) I have a dog named Maggie. I adore her and I love her with all my heart. This year I would like to train her more than she is and help her grow up.

Solar Car Incursion In Anticipation

Today we are going to be focusing on solar cars. I think that this is a very good opportunity to learn about a different kind of power that is a lot better for the environment.

I hope we will be learning about the different kinds of speed that the solar cars can go. I also wonder if there will be lots of solar cars in our streets in the future. I will like to know if one day the solar cars will have solar panels on the top of them. I think if solar cars can guide us human beings even in our darkest hours the world would be a better place.

I am left pondering if solar cars can be a life changing act in the future.

Reflections

Today, all of the year 5 students walked up to the Wyvern Hall at 9:30am to be talked to by a few of the students from UNSW. The uni students talked to us about how solar cars were very nifty for the environment and all the different kinds of pollution and  greenhouse gases. We had recess and a play before our next activity. We had a look at the solar sports car made by SUN SWIFT and all of the different types of buttons and all kinds of things. After that we look at all the different positions in a solar car race and it as a very interesting lesson. Finally we made our own solar cars and we raced them, (I was by far the best).

I learnt that solar cars, and even solar energy itself is a very cool thing. There was a heap of different gadgets in the car and they had so many sponsors. The arch in the bottom of the car makes it go faster and that the wheels are very light so it doesn't stick as much to the ground like e.g a formula 1 car.

All in all I think all of solar energy is a good thing and that it won't end the earth like petrol.

Year 5 Campout

The year 5 camp on old boys oval at the senior school was a great experience. It let all of the students from year 5 have fun and make new friends.  The day was very fun with lots of good activities. The treasure hunt was really good fun and it was a great workout. We all watched a movie in the Old Boys Lecture Theatre. The movie we saw was called cool runnings, I thought it was a very good movie.  Finally, we got back to our tents at roughly 10 o'clock. It took my tent about an hour to get to sleep. We all had a sound sleep and we're ready to go in the morning. When we woke up, the grass was really wet. All of us had to get changed and have breakfast. Later that day we went back to Wyvern.  All in all, the
